Through this program, you will have access to several training and upskilling activities to facilitate your transition into the local labour market, including:
Career & Workforce Readiness Modules
The open-access, six-module course includes several interactive components, including a skills identification tool to help you identify your unique skill set. You will also be equipped with interview and networking skills, and a foundation of workplace communication skills and professionalism.
Virtual Seminars
To complement your learning as you go through the asynchronous modules, you will be required to attend the following virtual seminars:
Week 1: What Now?
An orientation into the program - including guest speakers from our partners at the City of Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough & Kawartha Economic Development.
Week 2: Where Should I Look?
Job Search - the wins and the worries, and the elevator pitch.
Week 3: Truths of Networking
Accessing the hidden job market with insight from fellow Trent Alumni.
Week 4: Types of Interviews
Mastering the interview hosted by Careerspace.
Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to receive a $1,500 training subsidy, and an additional $500 if you secure employment locally.

- Have you recently graduated from Trent?
- Do you see yourself working in the City of Kawartha Lakes or the County and City of Peterborough?
