Microcredentials are a new and emerging avenue for training and certification within the spheres of higher and continuing education. They are promoted by governments as a tool for workers transitioning between sectors or occupations as they can highlight how a person’s skills can be applied to emerging and growing sectors.
There are several reasons that companies should be interested in Micro-credentials:
- Employers can use micro-credentials to identify job candidates who have the required skills when hiring.
- They can provide the right type of focused training to new or transitioning employees who need to improve their skills
- They offer numerous benefits for employers as they can be flexible, portable and cost-effective to implement.
- They help boost employee engagement and support you as an employer
