The School for the Study of Canada is lucky to have been endowed with funds to offer students a wide range of scholarship, prizes and awards. It is our great pleasure to recognize student excellence and need.
Canadian Studies International Student Travel Prize
Each year the School gives an award to an international student studying at Trent (either undergraduate or graduate) so that they can travel to a significant heritage site or region of Canada of personal interest. The award is given on the basis of strong academic achievement and a demonstrated interest in the field of Canadian Studies. For details on how to apply visit the Prize Website.
Awards
The Canadian Studies program is proud to offer a range of awards recognizing student excellence. Each summer a committee of faculty decides on the prizes and the winning students are recognized at a gathering early in the new term.
Scholarships
The undergraduate program in Canadian Studies offer two scholarships specifically to those majoring in Canadian Studies, as well as scholarships for those studying Canadian Social History and Canadian Literature.
Bursaries
In addition to the awards and scholarships decided by Canadian Studies faculty, the Financial Aid office also provides bursaries for students studying Canada. In order to apply for bursaries, visit the Financial Aid Tab in myTrent in September and January. These awards are distributed based on financial need.
Experiential Learning Funding Opportunities
The Undergraduate Fund for the Study of Canada provides creative opportunities for experiential learning for undergraduate students,and is open to faculty and students. Find out more & apply.
