What is a Workout Zone?
Workout Zones allow Trent students and members to reserve a workout in advance through Legend online booking system. This allows individuals to reserve a specified 1-hour or 90 minute workout appointment. Walk-ins are not permitted.
Each Workout Zone is designed by relocating some pieces of fitness equipment normally located in the Sport Centre and distributing them to other rooms, including the gymnasium, mezzanine (2nd floor), Fitness Studio 1, and Fitness Studio 2.
As part of the on-line booking process, students and members have the option to select a specific Workout Zone of their choice, according to availability. A full description of the equipment available in each workout zone is posted on the Trent Athletics website.
All workout areas have specific pathways for entering and exiting spaces, using floor or wall signage. Students and members are asked to move uniformly through the workout areas to reduce random movement on the floor.
The sharing of equipment or movement into another individual’s workout zone will not permitted.
Athletics Centre staff are assigned to monitor workout rooms and will be required to practice physical distancing, avoiding handshakes and physical contact with others.

Trent students and community members are required to register online through the Trent Athletics Legend online recreation management booking system to reserve a one-hour or 90 minute workout appointment.
Each individual included in a community membership (Family, One Adult Family & Senior Family) must have their own unique e-mail address to book a workout, as it identifies who is making the workout booking and who is answering the pre-screening questions.
The following protocols will be in place for pre-booked workouts/swims:
• The pre-scheduled time-slots will be available to book up to three-days in advance.
• Students and members will be permitted to book only ONE (1) time block per day.
• All workout bookings must be completed online. Walk-ins and telephone bookings are not permitted.
• Individuals who are a no-show on their booking more than twice in a 7 day period will be unable to book for three days.
• When reserving your workout or swim through the online registration system, you will be prompted to answer a screening questionnaire and the workout appointment cannot be booked unless the responses to the questionnaire meet COVID-19 requirements.
A one-hour workout or 90 minute workout booking represents the maximum amount of time that you are permitted to stay in the Athletics Centre. If you need time to change or shower, this must be done within the one-hour or 90 minute time allotted.
Students, members and staff & faculty who are present at the Athletics Centre and who do not have a pre-booked workout OR who do not have their Trent student card or community membership card, will not be permitted access into the Trent Athletics Centre.
Arriving for Your Workout
- You should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your pre-booked workout or swim appointments and line up at the designated location outside the south entrance doors of the Athletics Centre, maintaining physical distancing.
- Before entering the Athletics Centre, you will be asked to verbally answer the COVID-19 screening questionnaire and may enter the Athletics Centre upon satisfactorily completing the questionnaire.
- Following Peterborough Public Health regulations and Trent Face Mask Policy, individuals are required to wear a face mask when entering the Athletics Centre and in all common areas of the facility. A face mask may not have to be worn when participating in a physical activity/ exercise/swimming. Individuals who indicate they have a medical exemption, will not be required to wear a face mask.
- All Trent students & members must bring their Trent student cards/membership cards with them to enter the Athletics Centre and must swipe their card to enter and record their attendance. Individuals who do not have their valid student card/membership card with them will not be permitted entrance to the Athletics Centre.
- A one-hour workout or 90 minute workout booking represents the maximum amount of time that you are permitted to stay in the Athletics Centre. If you need time to change or shower, this must be done within the one-hour or 90-minute time allotment.
