We respect everyone's right to choose the change space and washroom that is appropriate for them. The following change rooms are available for use in the Athletics Centre:
Women's Change Room:
This space is available to anyone who identifies as a woman. This change room includes washrooms, shower facilities, sauna, day use lockers and rental lockers.
Men's Change Room:
This space is available to anyone who identifies as a man. This change room includes washrooms, shower facilities, sauna, day use lockers and rental lockers.
All Gender Change Room:
This space is available to anyone who wishes to use this space and is accommodating to anyone who identifies differently on the gender spectrum. Patrons using the this change room are required to change in private changing stalls. This change room includes washrooms, shower facilities, limited day use lockers and rental lockers.
Lockers
Day-use Locker contents must be removed daily by facility closing time. Locks and contents will be removed from any lockers that are not emptied by facility closing time. Contents will be held for seven business days only after lock is removed. Locks are available to purchase at the Sales Centre Desk.
Rental lockers can be rented by Trent students and all members. Lockers must be vacated by the expiry date of the locker rental. Locker rental customers must supply their own locks. Locks and contents will be removed from any inappropriately occupied locker. Contents will be held for 14 business days only after the lock is removed.
Patrons are encouraged to lock their items and refrain from leaving valuables out in the open. Locks are available to purchase at the Sales Centre Desk.
The Athletics Centre is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Sauna Use
Saunas are located in the women's and men's change rooms and are available for use by individuals ages 16 years and older. The following protocols must be followed when using the saunas:
Saunas are dry saunas. DO NOT pour water on the sauna unit.
Following vigorous exercise, allow a "cool-down" time before entering the sauna.
Do not use the sauna if you are feeling unwell. If you experience any nausea, dizziness, hot flashes or cold chills, leave the sauna at once.
Sauna use is not recommended for individuals with known health problems, including but not limited to high blood pressure, heart disease, or respiratory conditions. Pregnant women should consult with a physician before using the sauna.
Do not use the sauna if you have an open sore or rash on the skin.
Street clothes and shoes are not permitted, with the exception of shower sandals.
Under no circumstances should users wear excessive clothing to increase sweat while in the sauna.
Bring a towel to sit on in the sauna. Do not sit directly on the wooden bench.
As this is a dry sauna, please refrain from pouring water on the rocks.
Please refrain from getting changed in the sauna.
Food and drinks are not permitted in the sauna.
