COURSE DESCRIPTION Intermediate Division Math will give teachers the qualifications to teach in the Intermediate Division (grades 7 to 10). This qualification will give you a teachable subject in Math. Participants will identify tools that help students understand and solve math problems in and out of the classroom. This course is suitable for novice and experienced teachers alike as they collaborate and share with one another in a common pursuit to share their mathematical and teaching expertise. Teachers will examine best classroom management practices and instructional strategies for teaching intermediate-aged children. While examining Ontario's intermediate math curriculum, course participants will explore strategies, techniques and resources; focusing on practical approaches to teaching math in order to reach out to every student. |
