Intermediate History

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will give you the qualifications to teach in the Intermediate Division (Grades 7-10). This qualification will give you a teachable subject in History.

This course provides a fully online and flexible learning experience that allows you to participate in interesting discussions, share resources and reflect on evidence-based innovative practices used to effectively teach history in the intermediate division. In addition to exploring the characteristics of adolescent learners, you will develop the skills and confidence to facilitate a learning environment that will use history to inspire students to better understand each other and the world they live in.

PREREQUISITES

• OCT Member in Good Standing or OCT applicant if new Ontario BEd graduate (Read more)
   
• Your teacher education program coursework and practicum must be successfully completed before registration
   
• University undergraduate degree (in addition to BEd or teacher education program degree)
   
• 2 full year or 4 half year university courses in History (HIST code with a minimum "C" grade or higher for each course - B.Ed. courses cannot be included)
