Bata Library Stack Reorganization May - August

Bata Library Stack Reorganization May - August

Posted May 25, 2011

Update: We expect to have everything in its new location by August 19!

This summer Bata Library is reorganizing the stack collection.
By Fall the collection will be shelved in sequential order by Library of Congress call number (A-Z), from the 3rd Floor to the 4th Floor.

We plan to have:

A - PR on the 3rd Floor
PS - ZA on the 4th Floor

when the project is complete.

During part of this period call numbers starting with PQ will be unavailable; these items may be ordered via ILL.
Other material may be intermittently relocated or unavailable as it is shifted.
Most of the 3rd Floor is being used for temporary storage locations while we make room for permanent locations; all of the study areas in the corners are now storage areas.
The 3rd Floor cannot serve as a silent study floor during this project.

We'll keep the latest changes posted on our homepage and on a sign in the Bata Library atrium.
We're doing our best to post signs in locations where items have been moved, directing you to their current location.
Staff members working on the relocation are happy to direct you to the new or temporary location of items you can't find.

We understand that this project will inconvenience library patrons over the summer, and we apologize for the disturbance.
It's a large project, but we expect the resulting consistency and organization to be a great improvement.
