Professor Emeritus, Chemistry
Dr. Raymond March is an internationally recognized expert in mass spectrometry. He has published more than 200 research manuscripts on mass spectrometry; in addition, he has authored/edited seven books including Quadrupole Ion Trap Mass Spectrometry, Wiley & Sons, 2005.
Recently, he has focused his research on the application of LC-MS/MS to the study of natural compounds, such as flavonoid glycosides, that are of environmental interest. This study is extended by the use of high mass resolution, multiple stages of mass selectivity, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry. His work has contributed to the development of quadrupole MS instruments by several analytical instrumentation companies and he continues to work with several of these private sector partners to expand the analytical capabilities of ion trap instrumentation and to protect their patents. March brings a comprehensive knowledge of mass spectrometry and contact with analytical instrumentation companies to the WQC.
