Network Improvement and Disruption - Sunday, Jan 24, 2016

On Sunday, January 24th, as part of our ongoing network improvement project, IT will be performing equipment upgrades between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm.
 

Phase 1 – Wireless Only (6 am – 8 am)

Areas Affected: 

All residences, Bata, Athletics, Otonabee College, Gzowski College

Impact: 

All wireless connectivity in the affected areas will be unavailable.  Resnet wired connections will also be unavailable.

Action Required:

Be aware that mobile devices may switch to 3G when the WIFI is unavailable, and monitor your data usage accordingly.
 

Phase 2 – Wired Network (6 am – 6 pm)

Areas Affected:

All buildings on the East Bank and Traill College.

Impact:

All network services will be unavailable, including network logins, printing, WIFI, internet access, and phone service.  Expect multiple interruptions of anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours.

Action required:

Please log out of your workstation when you leave on Friday.  Failure to log out prior to this upgrade may require a reboot of your workstation upon your return.
