Students are already incurring so much debt trying to complete their education that when they hear “study abroad” all they can think about are the costs. While that is a valid concern, many are unaware of the additional funding options the study abroad program offers. Although tuition remains the same, many students share the fear of extra expenses like travel and accommodation, but with our scholarship and bursaries we can help ease your concerns. We never want costs to be a deterrent when you have such an amazing opportunity.
There are so many benefits to studying abroad. Internationalizing your degree can lead to you developing skills in marketability and independence growth while abroad.
Tamara Mothersill, a forensic psychology student who is involved with the circumpolar studies program experienced the benefits firsthand during her week-long trip to Anchorage, Alaska. With the assistance of Universities Canada, she was able to gain fulfilling and strengthening skills for her degree that she would have passed up or incurred more debt in obtaining otherwise. In her own words Tamara had this to say about her exchange, “My personal experience changed me for the better. Being able to be on site and experience knowledge firsthand gives you a more grounded learning experience. When I actually saw how the environment was affecting the bat species, it gives you this sense of reality that you never had before. You can't help but begin to put knowledge into perspective when you are there physically.”
Thanks to Universities Canada, one of the studies abroad programs many sponsors, Tamara was able to explore such a fantastic opportunity. One that led to growth and allowed her to further invest in her education.
