I wanted to gain field experience while learning about a country and culture I’ve never experienced. 

I wanted to complete an international field school to learn about what I like about excavation and to experience a new culture! 

 I wanted to determine whether or not archaeology was something I would like to pursue as a career in the future as well as earning a credit for my degree.

I decided to travel abroad to gain more archaeological experience and learn more about Maya archaeology.
