Questions
- Why did you decide to travel abroad?
-
I think the fact that I have been on study abroad prior to Trent, I really found that studying abroad really helps your worldview and mindset towards anything really strive and grow to a better place than if you were to just learn in a traditional classroom.
- Why did you choose to study at Colorado State University – Semester at Sea? How did you learn about it?
-
SAS is a once in a lifetime experience, I don’t think I would’ve gotten what I've received through it without being on this voyage. I liked the African and Asian focus because I've never been there, and I think immersing yourself in new culture is half the factor of learning.
- What did you find was the most challenging/difficult while abroad?
-
had a lot of homesickness because we were never in 1 place for longer than 10 days, so I wasn’t sure what home was for the 4 months, which was hard to get accustomed to.
- Were you able to travel?
-
Yeah, every port we had freewill to go wherever we wanted inside the country. My favourite country was India.

There are so many benefits. You learn new ways of viewing yourself, the world, cultures, people. I felt it was healing after my journey at Trent.

I lived in residence, my roommate was amazing and so was the accommodations, I have no poor words to say about SAS. My room was a double standard.

DEFINITELY DO THIS!!! I have a hard time explaining my experience and what it meant to me. But it was life changing.

Going to Varanasi and seeing the religion and culture; laughing in art class and movies nights in our dorm.
