Celebration of Community-Based Research
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Location: Trent Student Centre, Alumni Atrium
About: Students from across Trent University will present the findings of their research through poster presentations throughout the morning. This celebration highlights the active collaboration between Trent University and the Trent Community Research Centre.
Trent Lands and Nature Areas Plan Pop Up Station
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Location: Bata Library Atrium
About: Phase 1 of the Trent Lands and Nature Areas Plan update focuses on updating the Nature Areas Stewardship Plan, allowing us to better understand the natural heritage features that exist within our campus, such as the location, type and status of wetlands and woodlands, species, areas of significance to First Nations, as well as areas of cultural significance. All are welcome.

Provost's Lecture Series Final Lecture
Time: 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Location: The Gathering Space, First Peoples House of Learning, Enwayaang Building
About: The final talk in the Provost’s Lecture Series on Reconciliation welcomes Dr. Sylvia Maracle, L.L.D. (hon) Trent University.

Living Near the Lake’s Edge: Recent Excavations in the Fayum, Egypt
Time: 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Location: Bata Library, Room 103
About: This seminar explores the results of field seasons between 2016-2018 held in a Graeco-Roman village of Qarah el-Hamra. Join Emily Cole as she discusses her current and future work in the field of archaeology.
Three Minute Thesis
Time: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Location: Market Hall, 140 Charlotte Street
About: The Three Minute Thesis competition presents Masters and Ph.D. students with the ultimate challenge: to explain their complex and highly specialized research and ideas to a general audience in just three minutes, using only one PowerPoint slide.

Our Relationship with Nature
Trent Lands and Nature Areas Plan Speaker Series
Time: 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Location: Camp Kawartha Environment Centre, 2505 Pioneer Road
About: How does our relationship with nature impact us? Join a panel discussion featuring Trent psychology professor, Dr. Lisa Nisbet, Waaseyaa-Kew Kim Muskratt of Hiawatha First Nation and Executive Director of Camp Kawartha, Jacob Rodenburg as they discuss the effects of nature on human health and well-being. Dr. Cheryl McKenna-Neuman, Chair of the Trent Nature Areas Stewardship Advisory Committee will moderate this panel discussion. This panel is the first lecture in a series of talks about nature and the land as part of the Trent Lands and Nature Areas Plan update. The Ecology of Language and the Language of Place: Language as Environmental Response in the Era of the Anthropocene
Time: 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Location: Traill College, Scott House, Senior Common Room
About: As humans, language is one of the most precious things we have. Language holds inside of itself all the things we hold dearest: memory, emotion, perception, experience, communication, life. This seminar will attempt to answer the question of what the appropriate response to the land would be in the face of the Anthropocene.

Peterborough Regional Science Fair 50th Anniversary
Time: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: Trent University, Science Complex and Chemical Science Building
About: Each year, students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 display their projects in biological, physical, engineering and computing sciences. The experience is an invaluable stepping-stone for many who go on to pursue successful careers.
