Liam Ledgerwood ‘10, B.A. Honours, Business Administration and International Political Economy, Whitby, ON
Symons Medal Recipient
At Trent University, you will never feel like just a number in the crowd, says Liam Ledgerwood. He appreciates the wide academic offerings at Trent University that fed his multiple interests during his joint major in Business Administration and International Political Economy. However, he is a firm believer that dedication to interests outside of the classroom is just as critical as hitting the books, suggesting that what you get out of your education is a direct reflection of what you put into it.
“Trent’s diverse extra-curricular offerings are too valuable to pass up,” Liam said. As president of student group Trent Liberty, Liam was challenged by engaging with equally passionate students about diverse political perspectives and applied the leadership skills that he learned in class to real-world situations. “My time at Trent taught me that one of the best ways to learn is to get involved outside the classroom,” he said. “It is a lesson that will stay with me in my future education and beyond.”
Liam believes that the diversity of the student body is one of Trent’s greatest assets. He also appreciates that the faculty at Trent are active and supportive members of the Trent community. Liam will continue his education in law school at Western University this September. “Trent provided the foundation upon which my future professional education will be built,” said Liam. “Students who are interested in pursuing a professional degree or graduate work in the future may be well served by attending Trent University.”
