Carousels

Carousels are a great way to display step by step procedures. These three show students how to calculate the mean, median and modes of a dataset.

Mean, aka "average"

To calculate:
Add up all the numbers in the data set, then divide the total by how many numbers there are in the data set.

Median, always in the middle

To calculate:
Arrange your data in order from least to greatest. For odd numbered datasets the median is the middle number. For even numbered datasets take the middle 2 numbers and divide by 2 to find.

Mode, strength in numbers

To calculate:
Find the value that appears most frequently within your dataset. That number appearing most often is the mode. It is possible to have more than one mode.
