Ethics

It is important to consider human ethics when developing experiments in the area of social psychology. Not only should researchers be trying to reduce any physical harm to the participants, but researchers also have to ensure that participants do not experience any psychological discomfort (e.g., embarrassment).

If there is a possibility you could embarrass your participants, you may want to consider redeveloping your study. The researcher should always provide participants with an informed consent form which outlines the nature of the study and a debriefing form which outlines the study in more depth.

Try these examples and see how you do with them.
