Research Design
The end of semester was nearing.
Papers were coming due and exams were around the corner. The air in the student dorms was very tense as stress could be seen on many student faces. Longboat, who had just finished his Psychology research paper poked his head in Aaron's room to see if he was going out that night.
An exhausted Aaron, needed direction.
Aaron explained to Longboat that he had read everything on his research topic but that the research was going slowly. Aaron was lost, unsure what the next step for his research should be. It seemed that he was jumping from one part of research to another with no real direction or flow.
See an Academic Skills Advisor, said Longboat.
The next day, Aaron went to see Dana, the Academic Skills Advisor. With Aaron comfortably seated, Dana began to explain why he would struggle with his research paper even though he had read everything about his topic. Good research design provides the structure to having research that flows nicely and is easily followed by others.
