Biography
Dr. Amy Hallaran is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of nursing experience. Dr. Hallaran’s professional experience has included direct practice experience in hospitals (tertiary centres to smaller community hospitals), leadership roles in acute care, nursing regulation, academics, and home and community care. Currently, Dr. Hallaran teaches across the TFSON curriculum, including courses focused on Living with Chronic Illness, Research Methods for Health Professionals. In addition, she is supporting students in final clinical practicums and pursuing research at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Current Research Projects
- Examining the influence of changes to nursing education related to the COVID-19 pandemic on Readiness to Practice of nursing students at end of programs
- Examining the predictors of intention to leave among different roles within homecare
- Assessing nursing students engagement with preparation materials and testing to predict success in first-write NCLEX-RN exam success
- Exploring the use of an evolving case study on diverse learner needs and experiences
