Trent to Host Renowned Commentator, Journalist, and Historian Gwynne Dyer: January 29 Dr. Dyer to speak about current issues of terrorism, global division, and the problems with American and British policies after Iraq Trent University will welcome acclaimed international war correspondent and political commentator Gwynne Dyer on Thursday, January 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wenjack Theatre for a talk titled "Three Projects and a Few Funerals." He will speak about current issues of terrorism, global division, and the problems with American and British policies after Iraq. All are welcome to attend the talk. Admission is free of charge. "At Trent, we are honoured to be welcoming an expert of Gwynne Dyer's stature," says Prof. Stephen Brown, master, Champlain College. "It is an opportune time to be hearing from Dr. Dyer; his informed perspective on the outcome of the war in Iraq is sure to be thought provoking." Dr. Dyer, a military and Middle Eastern expert, last visited Trent on October 30, 2001, and spoke about the origins and likely course of the "War on Terrorism" declared by the United States following the events of September 11. This visit, he will be speaking on "the war just past and what all this may mean for the world that this generation of students will soon be inhabiting."
