Richard C. Bocking Donates Videos

This year's Ashley Fellow and a distinguished panelist at the recent Chancellor's Dialogue, Richard C. Bocking, made an unexpected donation to the collection at Trent University's Media Library on November 21st.

An award-winning filmmaker and author, Mr. Bocking said when he was invited to be Ashley Fellow, he wanted to offer something to the university. The 40 copies of films, videos, biographies, and short documentaries to Trent seemed just the thing. "I have a great deal of satisfaction in knowing that they will be available to the staff and students here at the university," said Mr. Bocking. "These films represent a great part of my life's work. It gives me pleasure to know that they will be used."

"We are honoured to receive this gift," said Lynn Cummings of the Trent Media Library. "Trent is a university that actively encourages cross-disciplinary study and Richard Bocking's body of work epitomizes this spirit." The tapes cover a great diversity of topics, among them, music, the environment, science, economics, politics, and social issues. To find out more, contact Lynn Cummings at 748-1011 x 1458.
