New Co-ordinator, Research and Grad Studies

Cathy Smith now prepares Research News since her recent hiring as Co-ordinator, Research and Graduate Studies. Smith graduated from Trent with a BA in Anthropology in 1985.

She worked as a researcher and educational project designer for the Leeds and Grenville District School Board before returning to Trent in 1986 as Assistant to the Principal, Lady Eaton College. She moved in 1989 to Student Services and in 1990 to Conference and Hospitality Services.

In 1994, Smith joined Teacher Education as Program Administrator for the Trent-Queen's Program. In addition, she served as a don for four years at Lady Eaton and three at Champlain.

Smith is studying to complete her Master's work at OISE in Educational Administration, Theory and Policy Studies. She plans to continue on to doctoral work. Her research area focuses on models of expert leadership and ethical practices in education. She is also a distance education instructor for St. Lawrence College in Brockville.
