Net enrolment up

The Registrar's November enrolment figures indicate 1,390 new full-time students attending Trent this year. Of those, 1,004 are in first year and 386 are in upper years, primarily year two. This represents an improved new student intake of 15 per cent over 1998 figures.

The total head count of returning students is 3,560 students this year.

Data shows the gender mix in 1999 of new students is 68 per cent female students, 32 per cent male. Last year the breakdown was 62 per cent females, 38 per cent males.

New students by geographical source shows 307 from the areas of Durham, Northumberland, Prince Edward, Victoria, Hastings, Haliburton; 277 from Peel, York, Simcoe, Metro Toronto; 211 from outside Ontario and 202 from Peterborough.
