High honours for Trent in Durham For the second time in three years a Julian Blackburn student based at the University Centre Durham (ucd) has won the Bagnani Medal for high overall academic standing in a general program. Elizabeth Sleight of Stouffville was one of two recipients of the award established to honour a Trent founding faculty member. "We have an extraordinary ratio of honours coming from Trent students at ucd in Oshawa," said Beth Popham, Principal of Julian Blackburn College. "Over 25 per cent of this years' graduating students were on either the Dean's Honour Roll or the President's Honour Roll or both." More than 80 students, based at ucd, received their degrees during Trent's morning convocation ceremony on June 1st. "We are proud of our 30-year committment to the Durham Region," President Patterson told the graduating class, noting that currently, almost 800 students pursue their arts and science degrees with Trent through the partnership established at ucd. |
