New AppointmentsHuman Rights Adviser Ann Farquharson, a local lawyer and Trent graduate, has been appointed Trent's Human Rights Adviser. She replaces Patti Strong. Farquharson will be on-site at Trent between seven and 10 hours each week and generally be in the Adviser's Lady Eaton College office on Fridays. She can also be contacted at other times through her office downtown at 742-9241, and has offered that she will make herself available for appointments there in the evening. Farquharson lived at Traill during her Trent days and graduated in 1981. She attended University of British Columbia law school, graduating in 1984, and was called to the bars in BC and Ontario in 1985 and 1986 respectively. She has practised primarily family law in Peterborough for the past 13 years. She has been involved with the Alumni Association here for the past several years, and currently serves as Co-President of its Peterborough Chapter. The Adviser's Trent number is 748-1501. Bookstore manager Barbara Reeves began work January 4 for Follett's as manager of the Trent University Bookstore. Reeves, a Trent graduate of 1974, moved to Peterborough in June. Her extensive background in the book industry enabled her to gain a position at the Sir Sandford Fleming Bookstore before coming to Trent. Reeves' work history includes Director of Operations at Indigo Books, and years of service at Chapters. Trent's five-year contract began last summer with Follet of Canada for the management of the bookstore. The store is scheduled to move to the main campus this summer.
