Shortlisted for Leacock Award
The comic novel Virtual Freedom by Cultural Studies professor Sean Kane was among those shortlisted for this year's prestigious Leacock Medal for Humour. The award and $5,000 prize were given April 21 to a Canadian author to honour excellence in a book in which humour is a major element. Kane's Virtual Freedom is dedicated to Trent's Founding President T.H.B. Symons and is an account of a free-spirited university community. It is published by Peterborough's Ordinary Press.
