Canadian athlete of the week
Cori Carveth, a second-year science student, has scored big! The Trent field hockey right winger was named female athlete of the week Sept. 22 by Ontario University Athletics and by the Canadian Interuniversity Athletic Union. "She played really, really well," said coach Amy Hollingsworth after Carveth scored two goals in the 3-0 victory over McGill Sept. 21. It was Trent's first win in three years and has placed the team sixth in OUA league standing after five games in a 16-game season, "our highest placement ever," says Hollingsworth. Carveth is the second Trent field hockey player to receive such recognition in 25 years. This year's team celebrated a quarter century of field hockey at Trent with a reunion Oct. 3.
