Three Trent female athletes have been named Ontario all-stars in university athletics this year. Lisa Morton ranked eighth among 11 in the first Ontario all-star field hockey team for her technical prowess on the playing field. Last year, she made the second Ontario all star team. Her "play-hard" attitude has earned the respect of her peers and coaches in the provincial universities league, says coach Amy Hollingsworth. She represented Ontario as co-captain of the province's field hockey team at the Canada Games this past summer in Brandon, where she was profiled as a pivotal player in the back field. The Scarborough resident started playing the game in England and continued to play at high school in Canada. She plays the defensive sweeper position. A biology and geography student in the concurrent education program at Trent, she expects to graduate this year. Soccer players Sarah Keating and Paula Reed were also named Ontario all-stars by the Ontario University Athletics organization. Keating, a Peterborough resident who transferred to Trent from York, started playing soccer with local boys' teams when she was eight. She continued to play at St. Peter's High School and then at York. The psychology student expects to graduate this year. Reed plays the sweeper position on the Trent women's soccer team. The Port Perry resident started playing at age 11 and was voted the most valuable player in high school. She is a second-year student in administrative studies.
