Nominate next Ashley Fellow

Nominations for the 1998-99 Ashley Fellow are invited from colleges and departments by Dec. 19.

The Ashley Fellow is a visiting scholar who gives a series of public lectures, resides on campus and participates in the academic and college life of the university. Australian prehistorian John Mulvaney was this year's fellow and sleep researcher Roseanne Armitage, last year's.

The fellowship was established in 1976 with a bequest from the late C.A. Ashley, a professor, long-time friend of Trent and proponent of the value informal contacts can add to college and academic life at a university. In keeping with his wishes, a scholar, broadly defined, could include non-academics.

Colleges or departments with college endorsement can nominate candidates. Detailed information is available from college heads, faculty council members, college cabinets and councils and the Trent Central Students Association. Send nominations to John Earnshaw, Chair, Ashley Fellowship Committee, Bata Library or call him for more information at 748-1450.
