For projects under $5,000
The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council has granted Trent
$51,195 to fund projects under $5,000 for three years beginning in
1999.
This represents an increase of 12.6 per
cent over the equivalent award
last year. This is the first year it has been awarded for a three-year
instead of a one-year period.
One SSHRC postdoctoral fellowship
Lidio Valdez (Archeology) has been awarded a 1998-99 SSHRC postdoctoral
fellowship at Trent.
Nineteen per cent of applicants
received the 100 fellowships in Canada
this year. The award, valued at $61,456 is to encourage the development
and broadening of research skills of recent doctoral graduates in the
humanities and social sciences.
