On behalf of her late husband and Trent's second president Tom Nind, Jean Nind presented the first Nind International Scholarships to Ozgur Gursoy of Turkey (1996-97) and Ivan Naida of Ukraine (1997-98) at the Trent International Program's 15th anniversary banquet Nov. 21. To mark the anniversary, TIP director David Morrison also announced the creation of the Jack Matthews International Scholarship, to honor the program's founding director. The Nind scholarship goes to the first-year international student with the highest entering marks. The Matthews award is also a full and renewable scholarship to go to a student coming from Pearson College of the Pacific, which Matthews also founded.
