Clarification
The base map used to generate the map on page 1 of the Nov. 20 Fortnightly was created and supplied to the nature areas committee by Trent's Physical Resources staff. It is not the first electronically generated base map of Trent's campus. Student Hussein Alidina generates maps for the committee as it develops its stewardship plan and for faculty on demand for teaching purposes. He uses data from various sources -- including Physical Resources, student projects and a natural inventory of vegetation communities in nature areas identified by Rosita Ben Oliel -- compiled and entered into the ARC/INFO geographical information system by several people over the past few years. Michael Fox is an environmental sciences and biology professor and Roger Jones, a biology professor.

Alumni on council
Henry Clarke makes seven the number of Trent alumni who won municipal positions in the Nov. 10 election. He was elected alderman for Monaghan Ward.

Sylvia Sutherland, mayor for a third time in Peterborough, is an external member of Trent's Board of Governors.
