Peter Robinson College musician-in-residence Donnell Leahy and his siblings savored the limelight at the 27th annual Juno Awards March 22 when their Celtic music band Leahy garnered two music industry awards for best new group and instrumental artists of the year.

Trent professor and Peterborough MP Peter Adams announced their achievement in the House of Commons March 23, ending with: "So, Mr. Speaker, I ask my colleagues to stop fiddling around for a moment and join with me in saluting Canada's famous Leahy family and the community of Douro which produced them."

The Leahy CD went platinum last week.
