Athletes of the year
Wendy Burrow and Chad Miller won Trent's highest athletics award, the Arthur Cup, at the annual athletics awards banquet March 26 in Champlain College. The Arthur Cup goes to the male and female athlete judged for ability, sportsmanship, participation and leadership in the university's athletics programs during their time at Trent. Burrow, a fourth-year anthropology and history student, also won an award for Lady Eaton College intramural participation and the most valuable player award for women's varsity rugby. Miller, a fourth-year mathematics and computer science major in the teacher education program, also won trophies as captain of the winning A division intramural hockey team, Purple Rooster, of the winning co-ed competitive softball team, the Mighty Twigs, and for Champlain College intramural participation.
