Hart named OUA All-Star The Trent Excalibur Nordic Ski team competed at the OUA championships in Sudbury on February 7 and 8. In Saturday's 10-kilometre Classic, Peterborough native Stephen Hart led the way with a sixth place finish (37:51) -- 33 seconds behind the leader. Peter Braul finished in sixth place, while Jamie Elcombe finished in 42nd place. On the women's side, Adrienne Mason, finished in 32nd place in the five-kilometre Classic. In Sunday's 15-kilometre Skate, Mr. Hart needed to win by 30 seconds in order to win the overall title. Mr. Hart brought home the gold, but fell short on the overall title, finishing 19 seconds ahead of second place. Mr. Braul finished in 15th place, Mr. Elcombe finished in 42nd place. In the women's 10-kilometre Skate, Ms. Mason finished in 19th place. Trent's team captain Mr. Hart, battling the flu, capped off a great season by being named to the OUA All-Star team. "Unfortunately I came down with a cold on Friday night and suffered a bit on Saturday but was able to bounce back and win (Sunday) to finish second overall. It was a good season for me and the rest of my teammates," added Mr. Hart. Mr. Hart will prepare for the National University Championships, in New Brunswick from March 16 to 21.
