Arriving in vans and cars bursting with stereos, computer systems – even stuffed animals - students entering their first year at Trent University were greeted with a warm and noisy welcome.
Student reps from the various residential colleges at Trent set up at entrance ways to the University to welcome "first-years" as they crossed the threshold into University life. Whistles, dancing, music, cheers and colourful signs were all a part of the scene – and certainly part of the fun college rivalry that makes up a big part of Introductory Seminar Week at Trent.
This week at Trent University is called Introductory Seminar Week with events from Monday, September 5 through to Friday, September 9, a week of games, celebrations, food and fun activities that gets students involved in University life. And, while students will have chosen their courses, seminars are held throughout the week to encourage new Trent students to explore new courses – even change their course selections if they find a professor or subject that sparks an interest.
