Celebrate Canada Career Week at Trent November 2 to 8 is Canada Career Week - and the Trent University Career Centre is hosting a number of exciting events to help students plan for their futures! Canada Career Week is an annual event celebrated in more than 2,000 communities across the country, including Peterborough. The focus of the week is to provide Canadians, especially young people, with career information. Meanwhile, Trent’s Career Centre provides career and employment services for students, recent alumni, employers, and Trent staff and faculty. This includes workshops, online and print resource materials, resume and cover letter critiques, and career counselling. The Career Centre is located in Champlain College, Room 204. All students are invited and encouraged to attend the Career Centre events listed below. These workshops, info sessions and events will provide students with the information they need to successfully make their way along their career path. Please note that registration is required for all Career Centre workshops. Career Centre Co-ordinator Kirsti Kerford encourages all students to take part in Career Week events. First year students can take the opportunity to learn by exploring, while senior students will be starting to narrow down their options and network with representatives. "Career planning is a lifelong process, not a single decision. It is never too early to start exploring your options," says Ms. Kerford. "University is a time to learn; this includes learning about your options when you graduate and learning the skills to take that next step."
