Trent Students Kick Off the Holiday Season in the Kinsmen Santa Claus Parade
Enthusiastic students coordinate float to represent Trent University
Packed with students proudly sporting Trent green, a brightly lit float traveled down George Street in downtown Peterborough during the 38th Annual Kinsmen Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, December 3, 2011. Students danced, sang, and gave out candy as they participated energetically to help ring in the holiday season.
Completely orchestrated by fourth-year student, Veronica Armstrong, the float was put together with the cooperation and volunteer efforts of students from Trent Walkhome, college cabinets. Trent University’s Physical Resources Department lent a hand and candy was generously donated by Aramark Food Services.
Ms. Armstrong heard about the idea of entering a float into the parade from Trent staff that had regularly participated in the parade in the past. Wanting to rekindle Trent’s presence in the Peterborough community during the holidays, Ms. Armstrong took the idea and ran with it. It was a complete success.
Thank you to all who volunteered and helped make the Trent University Christmas float a hit.
