Eager Students Get ready for a New Start at Trent University in the Fall
Oshawa Thornton Road Campus Hosts New Student Orientation
Trent University Oshawa Thornton Road Campus has just hosted its third New Student Orientation. 84 new students attended the jam-packed day with their families, filling the halls with guests at the end of June. Students and parents joined information sessions on financial aid, student life, health benefits, and library tutorials, and met with academic advisors to choose courses and get organized for the upcoming year. Students also had the chance to sign up for this year’s Trent Reads seminar and enter to win free copies of the book Water for Elephants.

“It’s so great to see the enthusiasm of the new students coming in,” said Meghan Condon, president of the Trent Oshawa Student Association (TOSA). “These individuals are organized and eager to get a head start on their lives at Trent. I’m looking forward to seeing them out at many of our upcoming TOSA events.”
Students picked up their student I.D. cards and received their free parking passes. They entered draws to win gift certificates for the Trent bookstore and a TOSA prize pack. After a busy morning of being introduced to life at Trent University, they were served lunch and mixed with other first-year students, current students, and professors. Many stopped by the TOSA office to check out “tuck shop” merchandise and stock up on popular Trent in Oshawa sweats and tees in anticipation of the fall session. All had a great time and the new students left very excited to start classes in the fall.
