Trent University Mourns the Loss of Alumnus Paul Delaney
Trent University is saddened by the death of alumnus Paul Delaney, who passed away on October 19, 2012.
Mr. Delaney was a member of Trent University’s first graduating class. He went on to win numerous awards for his teaching including a Spirit of Trent Award and the Governor General’s Award for Excellence in Teaching History.
In his retirement, Mr. Delaney served as Trent’s Alumnus-in-Residence and volunteered his time with Trent’s International Program, becoming a mentor to hundreds of international students.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 24 at 2 p.m. at St. Mark's Anglican Lutheran Church (307 Third Street, Midland), with a reception to follow at Christ Church, Waubaushene. Donations in his memory may be made to Free the Children: School for Sierra Leone or to your favourite charity.
The University extends its deepest sympathies to Mr. Delaney’s family and friends and to all who knew him in the Peterborough and Trent communities. In recognition of Mr. Delaney’s accomplishments and contributions to Trent, the University has lowered the flag atop the Bata Library to the half mast position.
