Champlain College Signs Agreement with Local Performance Company, Public Energy
Agreement represents a commitment to engage students in the performing arts
Head of Champlain College, Dr. Mike Allcott brought students and the Trent community together in the Living Learning Commons on November 8, to witness the signing of an important agreement with Peterborough’s artistic performance company Public Energy, representing a commitment to engaging Trent students in the arts.
The signing took place at a luncheon honouring Public Energy performers Susie Burpee and Linnea Swan, who performed excerpts from their contemporary dance piece Road Trip, a journey into the minds of two women at a crossroads.
“In addition to formalizing the friendship between Champlain College and Public Energy, this memorandum of understanding commits us to working together to host visiting artists, hold workshops, talks and social engagements for students to participate in Peterborough’s arts community,” said Dr. Mike Allcott, head of Champlain College.
Dr. Allcott and Bill Kimball, artistic director of Public Energy signed the agreement, along with Charmaine Eddy, chair of Public Energy’s board of directors and Samantha Shaw, president of Champlain College.
