Lady Eaton College Recognizes Academic Excellence
Dean's Honour Roll and Fellows' Awards
On Friday, November 16, a special awards luncheon was held at the Lady Eaton College (LEC) Pit for first-, second- and third-year students of the College who made the Dean’s Honour Roll last academic session.
There were over 70 people in attendance at the event hosted by senior tutor, Dr. Christine Freeman-Roth who gave a speech along with Dr. Michael Eamon, LEC principal, and Dr. Jocelyn Aubrey, associate dean of Undergraduate Studies. “It is wonderful to see the number of students on the Dean’s Honour Roll increase every year,” said Professor Aubrey.
Last academic session over 260 students of Lady Eaton College obtained an average of 80% or above.

Dr. Fiona Harris-Stoertz presented both the Dale Standen Prize for history and the LEC Senior Tutor’s Prize, founded in recognition of her service as a former Senior Tutor of the college.
The Dean of Arts, Dr. Moira Howes, acting dean of Humanities, and Dr. Holger Hintlemann, dean of Sciences, witnessed the presentation of Fellows’ Prizes for the highest marks in both the arts and sciences.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of every student in attendance with a certificate of merit from the college. Remarking on the success of the event, Prof. Freeman-Roth said, “I am thrilled to be able to honour the hard work of so many Lady Eaton College students. It was great to see so many staff, faculty and alumni of Lady Eaton College support these students by coming to this event and by their generous donations to our Fellows’ Prize Fund.” The awards are entirely funded through the generosity of the faculty and staff at Lady Eaton College.
Founded in 1968, Lady Eaton College is the second-oldest college on the Symons Campus. The Dean’s Honour Roll and Fellows’ Awards Luncheon takes place every November. Prizes for fourth year students are presented in a special Spring ceremony.
