Wenjack Theatre Gets a Makeover
New seats and flooring transform Trent's largest lecture hall and theatre
When students walk into Wenjack Theatre this September, they will find Trent’s largest lecture hall and theatre has undergone a makeover.
Renovations to Wenjack undertaken this summer include all new flooring and seats, as well as some cosmetic touches, such as a fresh coat of paint and replaced lighting. On the floors, carpet has been replaced with a durable and low-maintenance luxury vinyl tile. In addition to all new seats with cushions, a desk tablet has been added to each individual chair. With the renovations, seating capacity in Wenjack also increased with the addition of two more seats, bringing the total to 376 seats. Glow-in-the-dark stair treads have also been added as part of the update.
The upgrades to Wenjack were essential to enhance our students’ quality of learning and faculty’s quality of teaching in Trent’s largest lecture hall,” said Steven Pillar, vice president, Finance and Administration, who supported the renovations, along with the provost and vice president Academic Gary Boire.
