Join us for Just Get Over It with FPHL, an engaging program that explores stereotypes, biases, and racism between Indigenous Peoples and settlers while also celebrating Indigenous culture. This interactive learning experience invites participants to deepen their understanding of history from the perspective of Indigenous Peoples and reflect on how we can each make a meaningful difference within our communities.
Part A will take place:
- Date: Wednesday, May 6, 2026
- Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
In this 3-hour interactive session, participants will explore the true and historic relationship between Indigenous Peoples and settlers, reflect on stereotypes and systemic biases that continue to exist, and consider how personal identity and educational experiences shape understanding. Together, we will discuss ways to share these truths and foster positive change.
Part B will focus on celebrating Indigenous culture and may include experiences such as visiting the tipi and learning more about Indigenous history in the Peterborough and Kingston area through community events. Stay tuned for upcoming event details.
Registration can be completed here and includes registration for Part A. The workshop fee is $50, with free registration for current Trent undergraduate students and Trent staff/faculty. Trent alumni receive 10% off. Please email alumni@trentu.ca for more information.
