A guide for prospective students to explore the transformative Trent student experience and discover learning opportunities and supports available
Trent University Open House events on November 8 and 16 at our Peterborough campus and Trent Durham GTA Campus, respectively, are a great opportunity for future students to dive into campus life, meet professors and current students, and see all that Trent has to offer.
Here's a quick breakdown on what you can do at Open House and how you can make the most of your time on campus:
1. Learn all about Trent’s increased renewable entrance scholarships
Visit our Financial Services table in the Academic & Services Fair or attend the Scholarships Information Session in Peterborough to learn more about full tuition for 95%+, enhanced entrance scholarships for 80%+, and prestigious scholarships now valued at up to $30,000. Knowledgeable staff will help answer your questions about all the ways to fund your education.
2. Discover co-op & career opportunities
Learn all about how paid work experience is embedded into your program through paid co-op work terms in 30+ programs. In addition, 100% of Trent programs also offer courses that feature experiential learning, such as labs and research, capstone projects, and placements and internships.
3. Attend welcome sessions from Trent leaders
Hear directly from Dr. Michael Khan, provost and vice-president, academic to learn about everything that makes Trent so special in Peterborough. At Trent Durham GTA, join Dr. Scott Henderson, vice president and head of Trent Durham for a welcome session about the distinguishing elements of learn experience at this campus.
4. Join expert panel discussions and information sessions
At both campus Open House events, expert faculty will be hosting discussions on today’s hot button issues. In Peterborough, hear experts from different disciplines talk about artificial intelligence and the future of food. At Trent Durham Open House, experts will discuss artificial intelligence, climate change, and Taylor Swift. These informative conversations offer a window into the lively debates you will both hear and participate in as a Trent student.
Both Open House events also feature many 30-minute information sessions focused on specific academic programs and student resources.
5. Tour campus and residence spaces
Guided walking tours are led by current students and will give you a sneak peek into life as a Trent student, visiting residence rooms, dining halls, lecture spaces, study spots, and social areas.
