Come Together this Giving Tuesday
On Giving Tuesday, world’s largest generosity movement, President Leo Groarke calls on Trent family to support students through monthly gift to the Trent Fund
The holiday season is a time when friends and family come together in the spirit of celebration, and it is also a time to take stock of all the things for which we are grateful and look forward with hope and optimism.
Leo Groarke, president and vice-chancellor of Trent University, says these sentiments are especially true for him this year as he prepares to conclude his tenure in June 2024 while looking ahead with great optimism for the future of the University and our students.
“On Giving Tuesday (November 28), the world’s largest generosity movement, I am calling on the Trent family to help us make the greatest impact for current and future generations of students by making a monthly gift to the Trent Fund,” says President Groarke.
The Trent Fund is a powerful way to elevate student success whether that’s by providing employment, experiential learning, food security, or emergency housing. In fact, one of the goals of the Campaign for Momentous Change is to sign up 500 new monthly donors, increasing the amount of support available to students. Monthly giving is an easy and affordable way to make a profound impact on students’ lives.
“The Trent Family is made up of bold thinkers, truth seekers, and community builders who move the world forward with a contagious sense of optimism,” adds President Groarke. “Let’s come together this Giving Tuesday and share that optimism with our students. One thing I know for sure is that to inspire the leaders of tomorrow, we need to invest in the students of today.”
