Trent University Ranks in Top 7.4% of Universities Worldwide
Reputation in education, employability, faculty, and research earn Trent competitive spot in 2023 Centre for World University Rankings
Trent University has earned a spot among the world’s best – placing in the top 7.4% of global universities in the 2023 Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR).
“Trent’s reputation continues to grow here at home and around the globe,” said Dr. Leo Groarke, president and vice-chancellor of Trent University. “I am pleased to see our University recognized on the world stage for the excellence of our student experience, the rigor of our talent development, and the impact of our faculty research. This affirmation comes at an all-time high for Trent’s expansion in international partnerships, student recruitment and exchanges.”
In the 2023 rankings, Trent is among 40 universities in Canada to make this year’s top 2,000 universities globally—and is one of only five primarily undergraduate universities from Canada and one of 17 universities from Ontario to make the list.
Notable factors contributing to the University’s global ranking include: the strength of Trent’s Canada Research Chair program; achievements in grant funding from key agencies supporting research intensification and outputs; the career advancement of Trent alumni; as well as innovative undergraduate and graduate degree programs preparing highly-qualified grads to work in healthcare, law, engineering, environment, policy, social work, among other fields.
Each year, the CWUR publishes the largest academic rankings of over 20,000 universities around the world, and produces a top-2000 list, on which Trent has appeared for nearly a decade. The CWUR rankings focus on four key pillars: quality of education, alumni employment, quality of faculty and research performance with no reliance on surveys or university data submissions
