Trent University's Unique ESL Program Prepares International Student for Academic Success
Aya Ali from Lebanon Finds a Home in Trent's Welcoming Community
Aya Ali (Champlain College), an international student from Lebanon, found Trent University's ESL program and welcoming local community to be essential for her academic journey in Canada. Initially worried about meeting the academic requirements of higher education in Canada, Trent's ESL program helped her build up her academic skills and confidence to prepare for her upcoming undergraduate studies in Mathematics and Physics.
"The ESL program provides you with what you will expect in the academic journey," says Aya. “ESL helped me a lot to improve my skills and to know how to write before I go to my program.”
Thanks to Trent's unique ESL credit courses, Aya is set to become one of the first beneficiaries, earning up to 3 complete credits, which can be applied towards any Trent undergraduate degree. Aya's ultimate goal is to pursue a master's degree in engineering and become a successful civil engineer.
