Trent Blood Donor Clinic Tribute to Travis Reid February 10
Members of Trent and Peterborough communities encouraged to give the lift of life at special clinic organized by Trent Conference Services
A passionate and dedicated blood donor, Travis Reid died tragically in a car accident in 2013. To honour Mr. Reid’s memory, a special blood donor clinic has been arranged at Trent University on February 10, 2014.
Peterborough residents may remember Mr. Reid and his marriage proposal to the love of his life, Trent University alumna Alisha Springer, on stage during a Little Lake MusicFest concert in the summer of 2011. While working out of town, building his career in the field of architecture, Mr. Reid and his fiancée were busy planning their wedding, which was to be hosted at the University, when he was involved in a head-on collision on Hwy 7 in February 2013.
An avid blood donor, Mr. Reid had set a goal to donate 100 times. At the time of his passing, he had given 24 times. This special clinic, set up by Trent Conference Services in honour of Mr. Reid, Ms. Springer, and their connection to the University, will ensure that Mr. Reid’s selfless dedication to helping others continues.
“Travis would be happy to know that he's still able to make a difference and help people as he always loved to do,” Ms. Springer says.
The clinic in tribute to Travis Reid will be held Monday, February 10, 2014 in the Athletics Centre gymnasium at Trent University from 12 noon to 3 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
