Trent University Saddened to Learn of the Passing of Student Stephanie Van Evera
The University community is saddened to learn of the passing of Stephanie Van Evera, a final-year Nursing student at Trent.
Noted in her obituary, Stephanie leaves behind a loving family with many cousins, extended family and friends. As she was an animal lover, the family asks that anyone wanting to donate consider a gift to the Simcoe and District Humane Society. Stephanie passed away April 7 due to health complications.
In honour of Stephanie, the flag atop Bata Library will be lowered to half-mast on the day of her memorial service.
The University extends heartfelt sympathies to Stephanie’s family and friends, and to all who knew her at Trent University. We understand that this news will be challenging for many in the Trent community. Counselling and supports for students and employees are available:
